3 Star, Superior Tourist Class Traditional Hotel
The North Star Hotel Dublin is located in the centre of Dublin City Centre, Ireland, and it is a great starting point for every type of visitor to the city. Located in the heart of the city's transport hub with the main railway and tram station (Connolly Station) across the road, around the corner from the central bus station (Busarus) and the airport link bus stop outside the entrance to the hotel. Better still you're only a short walk away from some of Dublin's historical and cultural highlights, including Trinity College, Temple Bar (Dublin's "Left Bank") and the Custom House.
All the rooms are ensuite with direct dial telephone, tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer and trouser press. All are in good condition, although some do require some renovation. Rooms are all located in the standard wing of the hotel. Some of these rooms are overlooking train lines that lead in and out of Connolly Station.
"McCoy's" traditional bar and the "Bianconi Room", a popular restaurant that specialises in international cuisine. The North Star Hotel Dublin was built in the early 19th Century, predating the railway station by four decades, and is mentioned in James Joyce's masterpiece 'Ulysses'. The lobby is small, with a reception desk and seating area.
The lounge bar is new and very attractive. Please note that the 2 lifts only cater for executive rooms; clients should use stairs in the standard room block. Guests should be aware that there is live entertainment in the hotel bar, on Monday-Saturday from 9.30pm until midnight and on Sunday until 11pm. The car park is not available until March 2008.
